A Bit About Me
I am from North Carolina where I received a double Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and Psychology, followed by a Master’s in clinical Social Work from the University of NC Wilmington in 2018. I lived in Washington DC before moving to San Diego in 2022.
Whether working with teens cultivating self-trust, or helping a 3 year old navigate their first social & emotional encounters, my experience as an artist and as a therapist give me unique abilities to provide a creative, vibrant and non-judgmental space for therapy. Through experiences and extensive training I am able to provide a therapeutic approach that honors both the science of our brain-body connection, and the artful pacing of meaningful healing.

“We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything
than when we are playing.”
Charles Shaefer

Through the use of child-centered play therapy and expressive arts therapy (as well as cognitive therapies for older children and adolescents), we welcome the courage of imagination inside the contained therapy room to shape a world where a child can feel seen, heard and supported. By creating a child-led mindful and safe space, children are able to move through their emotional experience, ultimately making way for resiliency.
This resiliency, or improved neuroplasticity, is embodied due to using their five senses through exploration, play and artful creation. I am passionate about the lasting positive effects of this approach and am currently working on an Expressive Arts PhD degree from The European Graduate School. I find great appreciation for being a student of others and am also an adjunct professor at Bastyr University in San Diego.

In my spare time, I love sunbathing with my dog Nala, watching movies, good food with friends, walking on the beach and enjoying sunsets with my partner.
I can’t wait to get to know you and your child’s strengths as we create the path to a more ease-filled life.
